Andrea was born with dancing in her soul.  With a background in ballet, jazz, and modern dance, she took to middle-eastern dance like a fish to water 5 years ago and then discovered her love of Indian movies, culture, and dance.  As one of Nalini’s first American students, Andrea has studied bellydance with her for 3 years and Bollywood/classical Kathak for 2 years.  She is co-founder and co-instructor for the Blue Lotus Dance Co. 

Nalini & The Blue Lotus Dance Co., under the teaching and direction of Nalini, have been dancing together for 2 years and are united by a common dream:  to bring the best in Eastern dance to the stages of Seattle.  We offer a glitzy, glamorous Bollywood and Bellydance program can be tailored to the needs and budget of almost any size event; we guarantee classy and high-quality entertainment that will delight all age groups. 

The company currently consists of 3 core dancers:  Nalini, Andrea al-Amar, and Marie, and 8 additional dancers.  Depending on your event, we offer anywhere from between 15-20 minutes with a soloist or a few dancers up to a 1-hour show with the entire company!
